Classes

Our instructors are local established artists working in many mediums such as watercolor, acrylics, mixed media, and more.

Classes are intimate small group settings. We value individual artistic expression.

Participants do not ‘copy,’ but instead, use an experimental approach as they incorporate new techniques to create works of art.

Decadent Gifts and Gallery will be offering a variety of Art Classes and Art Talks in our After-Hours Series.

Classes and Art Talks usually meet on Tuesday or Thursday evenings or Saturday afternoons and are held at Decadent Gifts and Gallery.

Larger events hosted by Decadent Gifts and Gallery may be offered at a different location, such as the BrewProjekt.

With small class sizes, events sell out quickly, so check back often for new offerings.

Knotted Necklace

Saturday July 11th 1-3pm

Class is July 11th 1-3pm.

The traditional technique of hand-knotting beaded jewelry can be traced back to ancient times. In any museum with an ancient jewelry collection, you'll see examples like Egyptian necklaces with lapis lazuli and carnelian beads, Mesopotamian turquoise, and Persian pearls, all knotted by hand. Fast forward to today, knotted beads are still ubiquitous - not only are they incredibly lasting and stable, also stringing them with knotted spaces in between each bead gives a more graceful drape to them. Easy to make and tons of options to make it your own.

Class is Saturday, July 25th 10am to 1pm.

Artists are drawn to intaglio collagraph printing because the process involves various methods, and the materials are easily obtainable. It is experimental and allows artists to explore textures and patterns within their work. Making a collage out of different materials and using a sharp craft knife, create your own image plate.

Age requirement 18+ (sharp tools will be used)
